There was so much to like about this book, but in other ways it fell short. If you'd like to make a drinking game out of repeated phrases, look for "out of the corner of her eye," "bitter liquid," and "bile rose in the back of her throat". There were also clues that the author seemed to forget to wrap up in the conclusion like the bloody carpet?!. ![]() It makes the rest of the book feel pointless. I don't find that particularly fair to readers. The final chapters of the book introduce new material that had not been even hinted at up to that point.
